Jon Parker has been the Associate Pastor of Youth at Southview Baptist Church for two years. He has been married to his gorgeous wife Leia
for eight years. They have two children, a beautiful seven year old named Hannah and a handsom three year old named Noah. Jon joined the
staff at Southview in September of 2005. Previously he served as Minister of Youth and Children at Hillcrest Baptist Church for six years.
He earned an undergraduate degree from Clemson University(go Tigers!) in Industrial Management in 1994 and a Master of Divinity Degree from
Southeastern Seminary in 1999. Jon's passions are Jesus, family, teens, and sports. Jon's focus is getting the teens in the youth ministry
to believe in the power of God and focus their lives on Him through alone time with God and being a witness for God.
He longs to see godly young men and women leave the CrossFire Student Ministry and go on to be youth pastors, missionaries, youth workers,
Sunday School teachers, etc. There's a saying out there that the youth are the church of tomorrow. Jon disagrees because he feels the youth
are the church of today. A major goal of his and the CrossFire Student Ministry is to blend the teens with the entire church to help stop
the trend of youth ministry teens dropping out of church after high school.
